Obsession with 1920s fashion. Flapper dresses, hats, shoes.

I've been researching and compiling images (via the internet) from pattern companies and fashion magazines of the times for inspiration.

I'd really enjoy making a few dresses and hats. If anyone has tips on sewing cloches (hats like these), please let me know!

embroidered frog bag

A birthday present for my boss's sister - the "secret something for a secret someone" that I had been working on for hours and hours. The only thing I knew about her was that she liked frogs, so I embroidered one for her. My first time embroidering! I'm proud.

- painting/organizing new workspace
- designing a secret something for secret someone (it's been days upon DAYS!)
- doing cake decorator apprentice stuff at work (icing cakes, practicing trims, etc)
- flying kites and eating ice cream

... and started the obsession with kite flying

On Tuesday, Robert and I went to Kitesville in Indian Rocks Beach. Robert got an HQ Breeze; I got a New Tech Big Bang. I figure kite-flying will be a good source of exercise and something nice for Robert and I to do together. And, of course it's nice going out to the beach for a few hours for flying. <<< Here's one of Rob flying his HQ Beamer II before a storm rolled by.

Another day off!

+ I have a hair appointment at 12:30 PM - hoowaa! + Living without the desktop computer right now, but maybe I can work on business cards on the laptop!? + I made a top out of recycled tshirt material - gotta make it bigger. + I made checkerboard cakes yesterday! There it is, to the left. They are rather involved. But the result is nice! Go buy one at Publix!
